Breakfast

Einkorn Pancake & Waffle Mix

Grain free pancakes

Breakfast

Eggs, omelets full of veggies, meats, fruit bowls are all great choices for a good start to your day.  Again, avoid the breads, pancakes, muffins, etc.  UNLESS, you are Paleo and eat alternative flours like almond meal, coconut flour or ancient grans like Amaranth or Einkorn.  We will discuss these at a later date.

Green Chili Casserole

Juicing is a great way to get a lot of your fruits and veggies in a delicious way.  If you can juice and get a full feeling then go right ahead and do the juice/shake thing for breakfast.

Juicing

All I can say is that our modern day grains that make our flour is make from GMO grains that are hard for us to digest.  They are foreign to our digestion and because it can’t figure out what to do with the toxins and chemicals that come with our GMO foods it sends it to our fat cells and there it stays and is stored usually around the middle.

egg crepe

Try making crepes from egg and a little milk whisked together and pour a light layer in a saute pan.  For on the go, use them like a tortilla and wrap sausage, and other sauteed veggies in it and you have a breakfast wrap for on the go!

fruit bowl

I personally love fruit in the morning, it’s refreshing and sweet!

DON’T FORGET YOUR WATER!

Lunch

SoupSalad

I don’t really think I need to make recipes here.  All I can suggest is if you work outside the home, take leftovers so you know what your eating and where your food is coming from.  If you feel the need to eat out everyday or just find that eating in doesn’t work for you, then stay away from breads, starchy foods(yes white potatoes and white rice, noodles, pasta)

In and Out Burger will make a protein burger for you if you ask.  It’s the burger wrapped in lettuce. Some oriental restaurants will serve lettuce wraps.  Eat lean meats, fruits and vegetables.  Order soup and salad instead of the sandwich.

Here are some great ideas if you are able to be home or if you can take a lunch:

Tuna Salad

Green veggie packed salad

Soups

Sauteed vegetables

Raw vegetables

Water

DON’T FORGET YOUR WATER!!

Healthy Snacks

Orange Peel Candy

Honey Zucchini Bread

PALEO Chocolate Chip Cookies

To keep you satisfied and on track between meals you need to snack, some of us snack more than others, just keep it clean, raw and organic when you can!

One of my favorites:

Kind

I love these bars and they are full of natural ingredients, so delicious too! There are flavors like Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel and more.  I always have one in my purse just in case, they are very filling.

Fruits

Don’t forget all the fruits!  If you have a sweet tooth Pineapple is very good to have on hand as well as grapes, and watermelon when in season.  Take oranges, apples, bananas, peaches, nectarines, etc to work or while on the go to meet your cravings.

Nuts

Nuts are for those who love the crunch in their diet and they are full of vitamins and protein.  If you miss eating chips and like the salty things try popping your own popcorn.  Those bags of grease aren’t good for you at all and if you are like me I  have not used my microwave in years, don’t even want to go on about what those do to your food.

Veggies

Last but not least, try to squeeze in a few more raw veggies throughout the day.  Carrots, celery, sliced pepper, cauliflower, mushrooms, radishes, etc are great choices.  How about eating an entire avocado occasionally, they are very good for you in a lot of ways, we’ll talk about that at a later date.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!

Check the drop down on this page and you will find a lot of interesting information.  I’ll be posting pages consisting of 5 main dinner dishes, some weeks include a shopping list that you can use to help you shop clean during dinner the following week.

Read about what I suggest for breakfast, lunch and snacks.  I will be posting a few recipes each week on those pages as well, so come back often and check them out.

Pictured  is One Pan Balsamic Chicken.  I have the recipe on next weeks menu.  Watch for the weekly recipes and shopping list to be posted by Thursday of the previous week in order to give you time to shop.

Other things I will be sharing are the dangers of today’s modern food processing.  Our foods are GMO’s and full of toxins.  It’s a shame it has become so bad that we must learn to read labels and do research into how our food is made and processed to know what we are really eating.  Another subject I’ll take a bit of time on is processed sugar, salt, consuming bone broth and how good organic pasture raised meats are for you.

It is my intention to help you by providing information that may help you to understand this.  I also want to help you learn to juggle life and what comes with it and all the while sharing easy recipes so you can cook and provide great CLEAN MEALS for you and your family!  Let me help YOU make healthier choices, it’s coming straight from my heart.  It’s what I do for my own family.

Quick, Delicious, Paleo Spaghetti Squash (easily can be vegan)

Quick, Delicious, Paleo Spaghetti Squash (easily can be vegan)

VEGETABLE SPAGHETTI (AKA Spaghetti Squash)

20150904_123406

You can find this vegetable in the squash section of the produce at any grocery store.  It looks like this uncooked:

11924193_10207634672610802_2946551851017400498_n (1)

It has a very hard and tough outer skin, yellow in color, oval shaped, and a stem like a pumpkin.  You can cut it in half remove the seeds before cooking if you like, but I find that it is easier to cook it first. Pre-heat an oven to 350 degrees.

I prepare the squash by cutting off the stem about 1/2 inch from the end.  In the above picture it has been removed.  Like I said it is tough and I suggest doing this very carefully and don’t let the knife slip.  Look on the cut section and you may see a core in there and it goes down about another 1/2 inch, I cut this out with the tip of the knife and demonstrate it for you in the video.  It leaves a slight indented hole in the cut end.

I cook a small to medium sized on for about 45 mins, but, I like mine to be a bit crunchy.  If you like a softer texture cook an additional 10 minutes.  The squash has no taste on it’s own so there needs to be a sauce or something to go over it when eating.

Now while it’s in the oven I prepare my sauce.  It can be White Alfredo, you can add meat if you’d like.  You can make a pesto if you prefer, or just melt a bit of butter and add garlic and Italian seasoning blend and stir it in with some olive oil and pour it on like a dressing.  You can add freshly grated Parmesan to the top also.  I happened to make a red meat sauce for mine.

In about 45-50 minutes remove from the oven using a hot pad or silicone glove using a serrated edge knife, cut the squash in half lengthwise.  Scoop out the seeds and discard them.  (I save them for my chickens.)

With a spoon scoop out the inside of the squash all the way to the peal and separate the strings.  Pour dressing or sauce over the top and serve.   Easy, peasy, healthy and delicious! Again you can watch the video by clicking here now.

Here is the recipe for my red meat sauce:

1 lb ground fresh Turkey, cooked and drained

2 tsp red pepper flakes(optional)

1/2 dice onion

3 cloves fresh garlic sliced

2-3 drops Taste of Italy essential oil(I use Young Living)

1 drop Basil essential oil(I use Young Living)

Tomato sauce or paste, whatever you like to use to make your red sauce.

Spaghetti squash

Brown the ground turkey, drain and add the onion, garlic, seasoning and essential oils, stir.  Add your red base and let simmer until your squash is done.  You may want to cook it earlier and let it simmer all day if you’d like.

To see my video showing you how to make this quick and delicious vegetable spaghetti.  Perfect if you are eating  Paleo!  Easy if you are vegan to make a meatless sauce and guess what???  I was even able to use my Young Living essential oil Taste of Italy, which is a nice fragrant blend of 4 different Oregano’s.

TIP: Try it with Alfredo Sauce, adding shrimp or chicken

Sweet, Natural, Sugar Free – Yonana Fresh Frozen Fruit Sorbet

Yonana

I absolutely love this little gadget.  I can have a sweet, creamy all natural no sugar added, cool fruit dessert any time I want.  Nice for these hot summer days in Texas.  It saves all my fruit I have too, no more waste.  My bananas that start to go brown I throw in the freezer and any others like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries that might be starting to get old, just freeze them.  My favorite right now is Banana, mango and pineapple!  You can get them on AMAZON, I got the elite because I knew I would use it a lot, there is a smaller unit, but I know how my family is about sweets, so this is used daily.  It’s easy to clean and the parts are dishwasher safe.  I can even add a bit of my Young Living essential oils to them when I am done to enhance the flavors.  I would only recommend Young Living oils for ingesting as I do not the quality and safety of other brands.  Many of the Young Living oils are labeled and approved for supplemental use.

Click here for a video I did today showing a banana, mango, pineapple mixed with a drop of Lemon essential  oil.  The essential oil gives it a fresh citrus taste!

FACIAL MOISTURIZING CREAM

Whip together the following ingredients with a standard hand mixer until light and fluffy:

1/4 C. Organic unrefined coconut oil(I get mine here)

1/4 C. Raw Organic Cocoa Butter melted and slightly cooled (I get mine here) or you can use 1/4 C. Raw organic Shea Butter melted and slightly cooled (I get mine here)

1 Tbs. Avocado Oil (I get mine here)

1 Drop Frankincense essential oil(I get mine here)

5 Drops Lavender essential oil(I get mine here)

After the mix is light and fluffy place in a container with lid.  This is a base for a lot of creams I make.   I just change the essential oils depending on what I am trying to achieve.  I only use Young Living essential oils.  This makes a great gift!

I try to find small cut glass containers at thrift stores and garage sales, but they are hard to find.  Baby food jars work nicely if you can find them. Otherwise you can purchase plastic ones here.

Chemical Free and Sure to Please DIY Shampoo

Chemical Free and Sure to Please DIY Shampoo

DIY Shampoo

This non toxic all natural 4 ingredients shampoo is great!  My hair is so soft and shiny after using it for over 3 months.  WARNING!!  Please read my note below.  This takes a while to get used to and to get all the yucky chemicals out of your hair and you may experience a brief time of not so happy hair.  Please stick with it, wear a hat or wrap your hair up in a twist.  It take 2-4 weeks to get your hair into the new routine.

Ingredients:

4 oz. distilled Water

4 oz. Aloe Vera Gel I get mine here, called Earth’s Daughter from AMAZON. I like this one because it does not contain any Vitamin E, which I know a few people are allergic to.  Or, if Vitamin E is okay for you then try this one, called Fruit of the Earth also, from AMAZON, it’s a bit less expensive.

Now add and shake together to form a clump:

1 Tbsp of Virgin Olive Oil or Avocado Oil(even if  you have oily hair, oil attracts oil, it will draw the oil off) if you have dry hair 2 Tbsp is better.  Remember before each use to shake, shake, shake!

Now Add:

5 drops each of Rosemary, Lavender and Cedarwood essential oils(I get mine here)

Oily and flaky scalp, add 5 drops Tea Tree oil                                                                                            Dry hair or to add volume add 5 drops Geranium Oil                                                                              Thin, slow growing hair can get a boost by adding 5 drops Geranium and 7 drops Clary Sage  Breaking and splitting can be helped by adding 3 drops of Wintergreen

Now add:

2 oz.   Dr. Bronner’s Baby Mild Unscented Castille Soap (I get mine here)on AMAZON, but you can find it at some Wal-Marts, Target and I have heard CVS or Walgreens.

NOTE: You will experience a time of not so happy hair.  Meaning it may feel greasy, but it is clean. You may want to double the amount of Castille Soap because a lot of people don’t like that there isn’t a lot of lather.  It is just in your head, you don’t need lots of lather to get it clean.  You can also put it in a pump container and pump it all over your head and down the length if you have long hair to get more lather.  You will, however still experience this time of a greasy feeling hair period.  This will pass as soon as all the junk that was on your hair finally gets out.

By the way now, quit using gels, hairspray and other commercial junk on your hair or you will continue to get this greasy feeling hair, it it the junk in the commercial hair products.  I mean why are you wanting to used this shampoo in the first place?  To rid your self of another phase of toxicity I suppose.  So why on earth are you going to just re-apply another layer of toxins on your hair after this.

Ladies, we don’t need commercial hair spray, gels, mousse, etc.  If you do you need a new hairstyle that does not require use of these products.  Natural and healthy is the way you want to go.

Watch this video for instructions on how to mix.

You may want to look for some of my other natural hair care recipes to go along with the shampoo.
